Saudi Arabia has appointed Greek coach Georgios Donis to lead its national football team. The contract runs through July 2027. Donis, 56, replaces Frenchman Herve Renard.
Donis brings experience from coaching multiple European clubs, including AEK Athens and PAOK. The Saudi Arabian Football Federation confirmed the appointment, noting it follows the resolution of Renard's contract.
The national team is preparing for the upcoming World Cup in June-July, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The squad will depart for a training camp in the United States before the tournament. Renard previously guided Saudi Arabia to qualify for the World Cup, where they are slated to compete in Group H against Spain, Uruguay, and Cape Verde.
