Erling Haaland's back-to-back two-goal performance secured Norway a spot in the World Cup round of 32 with a 3-2 win against Senegal in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Both Norway and France have six points from two matches entering their Group I finale in Foxborough, Massachusetts. France leads on goal differential, requiring only a draw to finish first.

Senegal, now facing elimination, has zero points and will play Iraq next in Toronto.

Haaland opened the scoring with a goal shortly after Marcus Holmgren Pedersen equalized. Senegal's Ismaila Sarr made it 2-1 before Haaland responded to ensure Norway's lead. Sarr scored again in stoppage time, but Norway held on for the victory.

Norway’s next challenge will be against the strong French side as they aim for a successful progression in the tournament.
