Uzbekistan has named its squad for the upcoming World Cup in the United States, marking the nation's debut on the sport's biggest stage. Head coach Fabio Cannavaro announced a 26-man roster Tuesday, headlined by captain and attacking leader Eldor Shomurodov and Manchester City defender Abdukodir Khusanov.

The attack will be orchestrated by Shomurodov and Abbosbek Fayzullaev, both teammates at Istanbul Basaksehir. Khusanov, 22, battled injuries earlier this season but returned to help Manchester City secure both the English FA Cup and League Cup titles.

Uzbekistan opens Group K play against Colombia, followed by challenging matches against Portugal and DR Congo.
