President Donald Trump is expected to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden on June 8, OutKick confirmed through a source familiar with the plans.
The Knicks swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals, setting up a rematch of the 1999 Finals. The team will host a Finals game for the first time in 27 years.
Trump, a New York native and longtime sports fan, said he had been invited by Knicks owner James Dolan. He previously said, "I think I'll be going to one of the games."
If Trump attends, he would be the first sitting U.S. president to attend an NBA Finals game.
The Knicks face San Antonio, now led by rising star Victor Wembanyama. Game 3 is June 8; Game 4 is June 10.
