Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk scored the opening goal on a first-period power play in Thursday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Detroit Red Wings.
In the second period, after Detroit tied the game, Tkachuk was bloodied by a hit from Red Wings defenseman Simon Edvinsson. Tkachuk’s teammate Dylan Cozens engaged Edvinsson in a fight.
Following the fight, Tkachuk skated toward the Red Wings penalty box to confront Edvinsson, prompting referees to issue Tkachuk a 10-minute misconduct. The teams exchanged words before the game concluded with a Red Wings overtime victory.
