Tiger Woods pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges stemming from a driving under the influence arrest in Florida.

The 50-year-old golfer waived his arraignment and demanded a trial by jury. Hours later, Woods announced he is "stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health."

In an arrest report, Martin County deputies said they found two opioid pills in Woods' pocket. The report described his eyes as bloodshot and glassy, and his movements as slow and lethargic. Woods told deputies he had taken prescription medication earlier and was looking at his phone moments before his SUV clipped a trailer and rolled over.

Former President Donald Trump spoke with Woods after the arrest. Trump told the New York Post Woods is "doing good" and that the athlete "doesn't have an alcohol problem" but "does have pain" from various ailments.

This marks the second time Woods has taken a leave following a car crash. He will miss the Masters tournament for the second consecutive year.
