Barcelona attacker Lamine Yamal will miss the remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury in his left leg. The club confirmed on Thursday that the Spain international is expected to be available for this year's World Cup.
Yamal sustained the injury during Wednesday's 1-0 league win against Celta Vigo, where the 18-year-old scored the game's only goal from the penalty spot. Barcelona announced that Yamal will undergo a conservative treatment plan.
Despite the setback, Yamal, who leads Barcelona's LaLiga scoring with 16 goals, is slated to be ready for Spain's World Cup campaign, which begins June 15 against Cape Verde. He has also contributed three assists in World Cup qualifiers.
