Amazon is broadening access to its artificial intelligence healthcare assistant, now available to all customers on its website and app. The AI aims to simplify care for more than 30 different health conditions. Previously exclusive to One Medical members, the assistant can now explain medical results, connect users with healthcare providers, and answer questions about medications and symptoms.

The free tool is designed to manage non-emergency conditions, assisting with symptom management, virtual assessments, and treatment advice for issues ranging from acne to diabetes. While the AI does not create treatment plans, it can direct patients to providers for complex needs. Visits requiring a provider will incur a fee for non-One Medical members.

Customers can grant permission for the AI to access their medical data, including lab results and clinical notes, and analyze past healthcare purchases to inform its guidance.
