Anthropic is preparing to launch its advanced AI model, Mythos, to UK financial institutions within weeks. The rollout, part of Anthropic's "Project Glasswing" early access program, has drawn significant attention from both financial leaders and regulators.
During testing, Mythos reportedly identified thousands of zero-day vulnerabilities in major operating systems and browsers. This capability has raised cybersecurity concerns, prompting a closer examination by UK and international financial and regulatory bodies, including the Bank of England.
The UK AI Security Institute has described Mythos as a significant advancement in simulating cyber attacks, surpassing previous frontier systems. Anthropic's UK chief, Pip White, confirmed strong interest from UK CEOs and stated that robust safeguards are being implemented due to the AI's advanced capabilities.
Early access participants have included major tech firms like Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, and Cisco. Anthropic also plans to significantly expand its London office operations next year.
