Anthropic, the developer of the Claude AI model, took the first formal step toward going public on Monday. The company announced it has confidentially submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission a draft registration statement for a proposed initial public offering.

The filing gives the AI giant the green light to proceed with the IPO once the SEC concludes its review. However, the company cautioned that any offering still depends on market conditions and other factors.

This news comes just days after Anthropic raised $65 billion in Series H funding, a round that valued the company at roughly $965 billion. That valuation places the firm among the most valuable private technology companies in the world.

Anthropic has not yet disclosed the number of shares to be offered or a potential price range.
