Anthropic announced it has raised $65 billion in a Series H funding round, pushing its post-money valuation to $965 billion. This places the AI startup ahead of rival OpenAI, valued at $852 billion in March.
Since its Series G in February, Anthropic's valuation has more than doubled. The company says it crossed $47 billion in run-rate revenue earlier this month, driven by rapid adoption of its Claude chatbot.
The funding round was led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital, with Coatue and ICONIQ as co-leads. Strategic partners Micron, Samsung, and SK Hynix also participated.
Amazon committed up to $25 billion, part of which was included in the $15 billion from hyperscalers. Anthropic plans to spend over $100 billion on Amazon's cloud technologies over the next decade.
The company is preparing for a potential public listing this year to secure computing power for model training and service scaling. Recent demand has forced usage limits during peak hours to manage capacity.
