Swedish company Candela is taking commuters back to the water with its electric hydrofoil ferries. The P12 model, designed like an aircraft, lifts above the surface using computer-controlled wings, reducing drag by 80-85%.

CEO Gustav Hasselskog says the technology cuts energy consumption drastically, making it cheaper than diesel ferries. The vessels are computer-stabilized for a smooth, quiet ride, eliminating noise and wake.

Orders are flooding in from India, Saudi Arabia, and Norway, though Europe's adoption is slower due to bureaucratic processes. Candela plans to scale from 250 to 1,000 employees and open a factory in Poland.
