Meta has entered a strategic partnership with Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries to develop a major artificial intelligence infrastructure project in India. The collaboration underscores the growing integration of global tech giants within India’s rapidly expanding digital economy.

Under the agreement, Reliance Industries will construct a high-capacity facility in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The data center is designed to support 168 megawatts of power, specifically optimized for AI workloads. Meta will lease the facility, retaining the option to scale operations as demand increases.

This move marks a significant expansion for both entities. For Meta, it represents a critical step in localizing its cloud infrastructure to serve the vast Indian market. For Reliance, it reinforces its position as a key player in the nation’s technology backbone under billionaire founder Mukesh Ambani.
