AI cloud startup Nscale has raised $2 billion in Series C funding, valuing the company at $14.6 billion. The round was co-led by Aker ASA and 8090 Industries, with participation from Nvidia, Dell, and Nokia.

Nscale is building a global data center network specifically designed for artificial intelligence. The company plans facilities in the US, UK, Norway, Iceland, and Portugal, offering significant computing capacity.

Notable projects include a planned data center in Norway for OpenAI, which will house 100,000 graphics processing units. Nscale also has a major infrastructure deal with Microsoft to host Nvidia's GB300 accelerators.

The new funding will support Nscale's expansion into Asia and further development in North America and Europe. The company recently acquired engineering firm Future-tech to bolster its design and management capabilities.
