Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang is expected to visit South Korea next week, according to a source familiar with the matter. The trip, scheduled to begin on June 5, will include attending a "key event" in Seoul.
Huang is expected to meet with leaders of SK Group, Hyundai Motor Group, LG Corp, and Naver to discuss "physical AI" applications, including robotics, as reported by local media.
This visit follows an AI conference in Taipei. While a Nvidia spokesperson called the travel plans "undecided," the potential visit underscores the deepening ties between the chip giant and South Korea's memory semiconductor industry.
The AI boom has driven strong demand for Samsung Electronics and SK hynix memory chips, supporting South Korea's economic growth. SK hynix, a key supplier to Nvidia, recently surpassed $1 trillion in market value.
Huang previously visited South Korea for the APEC summit, where he announced Nvidia would supply 260,000 of its latest chips to the country. During that trip, he also enjoyed "chimaek" (fried chicken and beer) with Samsung and Hyundai executives.
