OpenAI is enhancing its ChatGPT subscription offerings with a new $100 per month Pro tier. This plan is specifically designed to support increased Codex usage, driven by the growing demand for AI-assisted coding. The new Pro tier provides five times more Codex usage compared to the existing ChatGPT Plus, making it ideal for extended, intensive coding sessions.
Existing features of the Pro tier, including access to the exclusive Pro model and unlimited use of Instant and Thinking models, will be retained. The $100 plan also promises unlimited access to GPT 5.4 and GPT 5.4 Pro.
To celebrate the launch, $100 Pro subscribers will receive a temporary Codex boost, allowing up to 10 times the usage of Plus until May 31. The promotion for existing Plus users has concluded, with Plus usage now optimized for broader session availability throughout the week.
The $20 ChatGPT Plus remains the primary option for routine Codex tasks. The new $100 tier offers a more accessible upgrade for users with heavier demands. OpenAI's pricing structure also includes a $200 Pro option, which continues its current Codex promotion through May 31.
