Protesters rallied outside OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI offices in San Francisco, demanding a pause on the development of powerful frontier AI models. The demonstration, led by Stop the AI Race founder Michael Trazzi, drew around 200 participants including researchers and advocacy group members.
Trazzi emphasized that coordinated global agreements-such as between the U.S. and China-could redirect AI efforts toward safer applications like medical diagnostics. He called for limits on computing power to enforce compliance.
The protest follows prior actions, including hunger strikes at Google DeepMind and Anthropic, and echoes the 2023 open letter signed by Elon Musk and Steve Wozniak urging a moratorium on giant AI experiments.
