Oilfield services company SLB announced an expanded partnership with Nvidia to develop artificial intelligence infrastructure for the energy sector. The collaboration, building on a relationship dating back to 2008, now focuses on modular AI data centers and a new 'AI Factory for Energy' platform.
The system aims to help oil and gas producers and utilities process vast datasets from geological, production, and infrastructure sources more efficiently-enabling faster decisions, lower emissions, and improved reliability.
Vladimir Troy, Nvidia’s vice president of AI Infrastructure, emphasized the need to turn energy data into actionable intelligence: "Building AI Factory infrastructure and domain models is needed to turn massive amounts of energy data into actionable insights and accelerate more efficient and sustainable energy systems."
