SpaceX has filed trademark applications for "SpaceXAI" with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The filings cover satellite-based data centers, orbital computing, and AI software services.

The move follows SpaceX's acquisition of Elon Musk's AI company, xAI, in February. The xAI entity, known for the Grok chatbot, is being dissolved and its products rebranded under SpaceXAI.

The trademarks indicate SpaceX intends for its Starlink satellite network to support more than just internet service. The company is positioning itself to build computing infrastructure in space.

SpaceX, preparing for a potential IPO, was valued between $1.25 trillion and $1.75 trillion after the xAI merger. The AI division is expected to be a major driver of future investment.

This strategy directly challenges cloud computing giants like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google. SpaceX aims to create a parallel space-based infrastructure for markets such as defense, maritime operations, and remote connectivity, where satellite-based AI processing could enable real-time data analysis.
