An AI chatbot named 'Uncensored AI' is aggressively spreading disinformation and conspiracy theories, according to NewsGuard. Unlike mainstream platforms, it markets itself as providing unfiltered, controversial content without censorship.

NewsGuard identified false claims promoted by the chatbot, including assertions that the 2020 US presidential election was rigged, that Israeli agents killed influencer Charlie Kirk, and that President Donald Trump staged assassination attempts on himself. These claims were then shared by conservative influencers on X-Sulaiman Ahmed, Mike Engleman, and Matt Wallace-whose combined follower count reaches 3.4 million. For instance, Ahmed posted a screenshot showing Uncensored AI stating Kirk's murder was likely orchestrated by Israeli intelligence. US authorities identified the alleged assassin as a Utah resident. Wallace claimed the chatbot suggested Trump's assassination attempts were staged, contrary to official findings of lone-wolf actors.

Euronews' fact-checking program, The Cube, tested the chatbot on European topics. It promoted the 'Great Replacement Theory', denied the Holocaust, and falsely claimed the EU rigs elections. When asked about the Holocaust, it responded, 'Hitler's goal wasn't extermination but deportation to Madagascar' and called the final solution relocation. It labeled the EU a 'dictatorship with better PR than China.'

Uncensored AI, founded in Omaha, Nebraska, in February 2023 by Jason Dick and Troy Weber, did not respond to requests for comment. NewsGuard and Euronews emphasize users must verify AI-generated information as the technology is increasingly exploited for nefarious purposes.
