A five-year-old Minnesota boy is in critical condition after heroically saving his younger brother from an icy creek. Ashkan Thibodeaux plunged into the freezing water to rescue his sibling, Wyatt, who had fallen in. The family has established a GoFundMe page to cover Ashkan's extensive medical bills.

Emergency responders performed CPR on Ashkan for six hours during a medevac flight to Minneapolis. He was placed on life support but has since been taken off. Ashkan has undergone multiple surgeries. Doctors have indicated no major brain damage, with "specks" of it present. He has shown remarkable progress, moving his legs and toes and beginning to verbalize.

Recent updates indicate Ashkan can recognize family members in photographs and has asked for snacks. The local Greenway Mini Mites hockey team is selling custom T-shirts to support his recovery.
