A British TikTok influencer faces possible execution in Dubai after allegedly stabbing a man to death in what she claims was self-defense.
Brooke George, 23, of Kent, England, was charged with premeditated murder in the death of a 26-year-old man she met online. Advocacy group Detained in Dubai says she traveled to the UAE after developing a relationship with the man, but on her second visit, he became controlling and abusive.
According to the group, after a night out, the man assaulted her in a car and later at the apartment. Her family says she called them in a panic, crying and begging for her passport when he punched her in the face. She grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him in self-defense, according to DiD.

George was arrested June 22 and is held at Bur Dubai police station. DiD says she was strip-searched in front of male officers, denied access to a lawyer, and not allowed to contact the British embassy. Her mother described her eye as badly swollen.

Detained in Dubai CEO Radha Stirling said the case raises serious concerns about violence against women and the right to self-defense. The British Foreign Office is in touch with the detainee and supporting her family.
