A Canadian man from Vancouver has been identified as the individual found dead in a drifting catamaran off the coast of Belize. The Belize Coast Guard was alerted to a vessel in distress, which later entered their jurisdiction and was brought ashore.
Police are treating the boat as a potential crime scene due to apparent wounds found on the body, which was in a state of decomposition. The man's son has arrived in Belize to make arrangements for his father's repatriation. He informed investigators that his father had departed from Livingston, Guatemala, with a woman approximately one week prior.
