A deadly fire erupted at a construction site in central Brussels, killing several workers and leaving six others missing, Belgian authorities confirmed.

The blaze broke out at the Oxy building renovation project on Place de Brouckère, where more than 200 workers were on site. Flames initially ignited on lower floors but quickly spread through elevator shafts, triggering a secondary fire in an underground level.

Firefighters rescued multiple workers from the scene. However, officials report several fatalities and ongoing search efforts for the missing. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
