VIENTIANE, Laos - Four more men trapped for ten days in a semi-submerged cave in central Laos have been freed, bringing the total rescued to five. Two men remain missing.
Rescue diver Lee Kian Lie confirmed the latest extraction, aided by pumps lowering the water level.
The seven men, all gold prospectors, were trapped by flash flooding on May 20 in a remote area of Xaysomboun province. Five were found alive Wednesday, huddling in a narrow shaft about 300 meters from the cave entrance.
