Hawaii is facing its worst flooding in over two decades, with officials ordering immediate evacuations across Oahu’s North Shore. A 120-year-old dam in Wahiawa is at risk of imminent failure, endangering more than 4,000 residents.
The sole access road out of Waialua is also at high risk of collapse under continued rainfall. Over 5,500 people north of Honolulu are under evacuation orders.
Hawaii Governor Josh Green warned the storm could cost up to $1 billion, damaging airports, schools, roads, homes, and a hospital. State employees have been sent home to prioritize safety.

Residents are organizing rescue efforts and clean-up operations, even rescuing pets from floodwaters.
