New protests have erupted across Iranian universities, marking the first sustained campus unrest since the government's severe crackdown in December and January. A protester in Tehran told CBS News that students are bravely challenging the regime, displaying symbols associated with the monarchy and chanting "Javid Shah" - "Long live the shah." These actions carry the death penalty.

The protester, speaking anonymously out of fear, expressed shame at being alive while others died and voiced a desire for her grief to become a voice for her people. She described witnessing people shot and killed in the streets during previous demonstrations. With a significant U.S. military buildup in the Middle East, including two aircraft carrier strike groups, she stated her hope for U.S. intervention.

She called on President Trump to fulfill his promises of help, citing recent executions. The protester also rejected negotiations with Iran, labeling Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi a "terrorist."
