Iran's 2026 World Cup campaign is over. The team was eliminated following a 1-1 draw with Egypt at Lumen Field in Seattle.

Egypt took an early lead through Mahmoud Saber in the fifth minute. Ramin Rezaeian equalized for Iran in the 14th minute.

In stoppage time, Iran believed they had scored a winner. However, VAR reviewed the goal and ruled it offside. The match ended 1-1.

This result left Iran with three points from three group-stage draws, insufficient to advance as one of the best third-place teams. The squad has never progressed past the group stage in seven World Cup appearances.

The match was designated as a Pride Match. Iran's team departed the U.S. immediately after the game.
