Israeli military strikes killed at least 20 people in southern Lebanon on June 19 and 20, despite a ceasefire agreement reached just hours earlier. Lebanese state media reports the attacks targeted residential areas in the Nabatieh and Tyre districts.

Among the casualties was an entire family of four killed in a single airstrike. The violence underscores the fragility of the truce brokered by the United States with involvement from Qatar and Iran.

This latest agreement followed Hezbollah’s rejection of earlier conditional deals proposed in June 2026. Despite a significant 45-day extension granted on May 15 aimed at facilitating phased military withdrawals, violations remain rampant due to ongoing compliance disputes.
