Iran’s parliament speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, warned the U.S. on Sunday that deploying ground troops would result in heavy losses.

"Our missiles are in place," Ghalibaf said, vowing to punish U.S. regional partners if American forces enter Iranian territory.

He dismissed a 15-point peace proposal delivered by Pakistan as futile, accusing Washington of seeking Iran’s surrender.

Separately, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard threatened to strike Israeli and American educational institutions unless the U.S. condemned attacks on Iranian universities.

Targets included Georgetown, NYU, and Northwestern campuses in the Gulf, as well as the American University of Beirut, which shifted to remote operations.

For the first time, Iran has labeled foreign universities as legitimate military objectives.

The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad confirmed awareness of potential threats to American-linked schools in Iraq, citing ongoing militia activity.

Tensions continue to rise following Israeli strikes on Iranian research facilities linked to weapons development.
