The UN relief coordination office, OCHA, reports that at least 13 people were injured in airstrikes across southern Lebanon. Between 17 and 28 April, 48 people were killed and 183 injured, bringing the total since March 2 to over 2,500 killed and more than 7,800 wounded.
Despite an extended ceasefire, the situation remains fragile and volatile, with violence hampering humanitarian access. Aid agencies have conducted 100 missions to hard-to-reach areas.
Nearly a quarter of Lebanon's population is facing acute hunger. A new IPC alert warns that 1.2 million people could face high levels of acute food insecurity by August.
In Gaza, conditions remain dire. Families face overcrowded shelters, limited water, and health risks. Rodents and insects are widespread, increasing disease risk. Children are venturing into high-risk areas to collect materials to sell.
The threat of unexploded ordnance is deadly. Over 1,200 people have been killed or injured by explosives since October 2023, nearly half of them children. UNMAS says families cannot safely return home.
