Mexican authorities have detained a key logistics suspect linked to the recent killing of drug lord Nemesio Oseguera, known as "El Mencho."
The detainee, identified as Jose N., alias "El Pepe," facilitated transport operations for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel leadership before his capture in Tlajomulco. Military officials confirmed U.S. intelligence aided in pinpointing Oseguera’s location prior to the February 22 raid that ended his reign.
Oseguera carried a $15 million U.S. bounty. His death triggered widespread violence across 20 states, resulting in over 70 fatalities, including security forces. The CJNG has now lost its primary commander following the operation that claimed more than 25 National Guard troops.
