A passenger was nearly sucked out of a Ryanair aircraft window after it detached during a flight from Thessaloniki, Greece, to Memmingen, Germany.
The incident occurred over North Macedonia. A witness reported a loud noise and sudden decompression. The passenger's head and shoulders were forced outside the fuselage, but his seatbelt held.
Fellow travelers intervened, pulling the man back to safety. He sustained friction burns but is in stable condition.
The airline confirmed the window "detached during the flight." The Boeing 737 returned to Thessaloniki for a safe landing. A replacement aircraft transported other passengers to their destination.
