A Nepali climbing guide who vanished on Mount Everest for six days and was presumed dead has been found alive, crawling alone to Base Camp. Dawa Sherpa, in his 50s and known as 'Hillary,' disappeared in harsh conditions on May 30. He was discovered Thursday by the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee near Base Camp. A helicopter flew him to Kathmandu, where he is conscious and being treated for frostbite, cold injuries, and dehydration. His family, who had begun last rites, described their joy as overwhelming. The season has seen at least five deaths and a record 1,000+ summits.
