The Royal Air Force base Akrotiri in Cyprus was struck by a one-way attack drone amidst escalating conflict in the Middle East. No casualties were reported.

In response to the incident near Limassol, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) is temporarily relocating non-essential staff and families to alternative accommodation on the island as a precautionary measure. An MoD spokesperson stated that the safety of personnel and their families is the absolute priority, and the base continues to operate normally.

Cyprus's President Nikos Christodoulides confirmed authorities are on high alert but reiterated the territory does not participate in any military operations. This marks the first attack on the RAF facility since 1986. The UK government has not confirmed the drone's origin.
