South Korea's largest conglomerates have announced a combined investment of roughly $195 billion to develop advanced industrial projects in the country's southeastern Yeongnam region.

Hanwha Group is committing 55 trillion won to satellites, space launch vehicles, and AI data centers for its defense and space divisions. Hyundai Motor Group will direct 42 trillion won over the next decade toward self-driving mobility, AI-integrated manufacturing, and next-generation aerospace production.

Samsung Group plans a 19 trillion won investment in the city of Gumi to develop humanoid robots and a new AI data center. Its affiliates are also poised for significant expansion, with Samsung SDI earmarking 16 trillion won for advanced battery lines and Samsung Heavy Industries allocating 10 trillion won for marine infrastructure.

SK Group is set to build AI data centers in the city of Ulsan with a massive 140 trillion won investment.
