Suhana Ab, founder of the 10-year-old reversible kidswear brand Maison Q, has won the inaugural Retail Maverick Challenge 2025, organized by Enterprise Singapore and CapitaLand. The brand beat over 200 retailers with its innovative store concept, focusing on immersive designs and customer co-creation.
Maison Q is known for its signature reversible clothing, offering two designs in one. The brand emphasizes bold prints, high-quality craftsmanship, and sustainable production at its family-owned atelier in Indonesia.
The upcoming flagship store at Raffles City will feature a reversible bar for garment customization and a made-to-order T-shirt concept to minimize overproduction. Interactive installations will also allow customers to create their own prints.
Ab, a mother of three, transitioned from a career as an editor to entrepreneurship. She built Maison Q without external investors, focusing on profitability and premium quality. An early endorsement came from multibrand retailer Motherswork, followed by concessions at Takashimaya.

Recent collaborations include a package with The St Regis Kuala Lumpur, featuring the hotel's mascot Butler Bear in Maison Q-designed outfits. This partnership boosted Ab's confidence and positioned Maison Q as a refined brand.
Ab advises aspiring mumpreneurs to pursue their ideas, emphasizing that one can achieve goals but not all at once. Her journey underscores the grit and vision required to build a lasting brand.
