President Donald Trump announced Monday that he has called off a planned U.S. military attack on Iran, originally scheduled for Tuesday. The decision came after direct requests from the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, who urged him to allow more time for ongoing diplomatic negotiations.

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump said he agreed to delay the strike out of respect for the Gulf allies, who believe a nuclear deal is within reach. He reiterated that any agreement must include a ban on nuclear weapons for Iran. The president also instructed Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and the U.S. military to remain on standby for a full-scale assault if negotiations fail.

Over the weekend, Trump warned Iran that time is running out, stating there "won't be anything left of them" if leaders do not move quickly toward a deal.

Meanwhile, the Strait of Hormuz remains effectively closed, disrupting global oil markets and pressuring industries reliant on stable energy supplies.

Iran has reportedly transmitted a revised set of terms for a deal via Pakistani mediators.
