President Donald Trump announced that Iran can initiate peace negotiations, stating, "If they want to talk, they can come to us, or they can call us." This comes as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visits Pakistan for discussions amid the ongoing war launched by the US and Israel.

Trump indicated that the core condition for talks is Iran's adherence to not possessing nuclear weapons. The conflict, which began with US-Israeli strikes on February 28, has led to significant casualties, increased oil prices, and fueled inflation, while diplomatic efforts have stalled. Iran has partially closed the Strait of Hormuz, and the US has imposed a blockade on Iranian ports.

Araghchi's trip to Pakistan is part of a broader diplomatic shuttle that has included stops in Oman. He is expected to discuss regional security, the Strait of Hormuz, and the lifting of naval blockades with Pakistani leadership before potentially heading to Moscow. Earlier talks involving US envoys and Iranian parliamentary speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf concluded without an agreement.
