The United States is forging stronger economic ties with Central Asia through significant new investment deals signed with Kazakhstan. During a visit to Washington, Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev secured agreements worth hundreds of millions of dollars with American companies.

Key among these was an $180 million investment by Mars to establish a pet food production plant in Alatau. In aviation, discussions with Boeing focused on the delivery of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Air Astana, slated for the latter half of 2026, to facilitate direct transatlantic flights. Kazakhstan's SCAT Airlines also signaled plans to acquire more Boeing aircraft and explore a joint maintenance center.

Further cementing cooperation, Ashmore Group will construct the Ashmore Healthcare International clinic in Kazakhstan, in partnership with Samruk Kazyna Invest and Mount Sinai Health System. Investment discussions also extended to mining and transport with the US International Development Finance Corporation.

Separately, President Tokayev participated in the inaugural Board of Peace meeting, pledging substantial financial aid for the reconstruction of Gaza. Kazakhstan has been a notable contributor to relief efforts in the Middle East, having previously sent troops for policing in Gaza and committed to providing humanitarian aid and educational support.
