Russia has launched a massive daytime drone attack on Ukraine, striking multiple cities in the west of the country with over 400 drones. The Bernardine monastery, a 16th-century UNESCO World Heritage site in Lviv, was damaged. A fire broke out in a nearby residential building, as shown in images released by local authorities.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi reported 13 injuries in his city, with warnings that the number could rise. In Ivano-Frankivsk, two people were killed, and four others, including a child, were injured. Buildings and a maternity hospital were also damaged.
The attacks follow a heavy overnight assault that left at least five people dead, including a 61-year-old woman in Kharkiv. Despite the ongoing conflict, western Ukraine has generally seen fewer intense strikes compared to regions closer to the Russian border.
Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yurii Ihnat stated that the attacks were among the largest in a 24-hour period, with drones entering Ukrainian airspace from the north.
