Washington - US forces struck Iranian coastal radar sites on Saturday after shooting down four Iranian drones targeting maritime traffic near the Strait of Hormuz, according to the US military. The strikes hit surveillance sites on Qeshm Island and in Goruk.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps retaliated by targeting US bases in Kuwait and Bahrain and firing on tankers in the strait. Kuwait's air defenses intercepted incoming missiles and drones, while Bahrain urged residents to shelter.

Kuwait condemned the Iranian attacks as a "blatant act of aggression." The US military reported intercepting six Iranian ballistic missiles, with a seventh failing to reach its target.

Talks for an interim peace deal remain stalled. Iran demands access to billions in frozen oil revenue and control over the strait. Pakistan’s interior minister was reportedly en route to Tehran for mediation.

President Trump acknowledged Iran retains about 21% of its missile capabilities, saying negotiations are delayed because Tehran is "strong" and "proud." The war, launched in late February, has driven up global oil prices and disrupted supply chains.

In Lebanon, Hezbollah attacked Israeli troops, and Israel struck southern Lebanon. Hezbollah rejected a US-brokered ceasefire, and Israel refused to withdraw, complicating broader peace efforts.
