UN Secretary-General António Guterres urged the United States and Israel to end their bombing campaign against Iran, warning it could spiral out of control. He spoke Thursday in Brussels, emphasizing the need to prevent further civilian suffering, particularly in vulnerable nations.

Guterres also demanded Iran cease attacks on Gulf neighbors, stressing they are not parties to the conflict. Recent strikes on energy infrastructure have driven up global energy prices and disrupted supply chains.

He highlighted the strategic Strait of Hormuz, where prolonged closure is causing worldwide economic strain. The UN chief called for the "force of the law" to replace the "law of force," demanding diplomacy over war.
