A new format and a new broadcaster
Much has been made of the changes to the Champions League this season.
As a reminder, the competition now features a 36-team league table rather than eight groups of four teams.
Each side will play eight matches, four at home and four away, all against different sides.
The top eight teams in the league will qualify for the round of 16 automatically, while the teams placed 9-24 will face each other in a play-off round to make up the knockout stages.
Another important change, especially for Liverpool fans tonight, is that Amazon Prime have joined TNT Sports as the UK broadcasters of the competition.
Amazon Prime will have coverage of the top fixture on Tuesday nights during the competition and unsurprisingly opted for AC Milan against Liverpool.

It's time for Arne Slot to show he belongs at Europe's top table, writes LEWIS STEELE
Mail Sport's Lewis Steele has set the scene ahead of Liverpool's Champions League return tonight.
He highlights how Arne Slot will have to prove that he belongs at Champions League level.
'His European record is relatively sound. Slot, who turns 46 today, led Feyenoord to the Conference League final – losing to Jose Mourinho’s Roma – and won more European games than anyone in the Rotterdam club’s history. In the Champions League, he is so far unproven,' Steele writes.
'This competition, though, is often what Liverpool bosses live and die by. After a few years in the wilderness, Klopp brought the glorious European nights back to Anfield, while Rafael Benitez’s continental exploits disguised a record of only once finishing above third in the Premier League.'

'My birthday is not important' - Slot
A big day all around for Arne Slot.
The Dutchman is celebrating his birthday, having turned 46 today.
Slot admitted pre-match that his personal landmark was not important, with matters on the pitch taking up his full attention.
A victory on his first Champions League match as Liverpool boss would be the perfect present for him though.
Liverpool primed for Champions League return
The Champions League is back and Liverpool are back in it.
After a season away from Europe's premier competition, the Reds make their return tonight at the San Siro in one of the highest profile clashes this week against AC Milan.
The match at the world famous San Siro features two sides with 13 European Cups between them.
Liverpool will hope tonight is the start of their journey to a seventh triumph in the competition.
Arne Slot's side will be looking to bounce back from their 1-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest on the weekend, which ended his perfect start to life as Liverpool boss.
The Dutchman ahead of the match talked up the history between AC Milan and Liverpool, with the Reds win in the 2005 Istanbul final the stand out meeting.
It should make for a cracking start to the revamped Champions League this season.
