Arne Slot names his first Liverpool team in the Premier League

The Dutchman replaced Jurgen Klopp this summer after the German departed Anfield following a glittering nine years in charge.

Slot oversaw a hugely impressive pre-season, with the Reds winning four of their six matches, although they remain the only top flight side yet to make a signing this summer.

They kick off their campaign at 12:30pm today with a trip to Portman Road to take on newly-promoted Ipswich and Slot has named his first Liverpool team in the Premier League.

Alisson Becker unsurprisingly got the nod in goal, with Ryan Gravenberch preferred in his new deeper midfield role.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai line up alongside the Dutchman in midfield while the front three for the Reds sees Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota link up.

Slot, who joined Liverpool after three successful years at Feyenoord, has impressed fans and pundits with his early dealings in the Reds hotseat.

He will hope to challenge Manchester City and Arsenal for the Premier League title this season, with the Dutchman set to rely on a squad littered with quality.

The clash at Portman Road is set to be an intriguing challenge for Slot and Liverpool though, with Ipswich in action for their first game in the top flight since 2002.

Kieran McKenna has overseen a remarkable run of back-to-back promotions for the Tractor Boys, with the Northern Irishman since strengthening his side heavily this summer.

The likes of Omari Hutchinson, Ben Johnson, Jacob Greaves, Liam Delay, Arijanet Muric and Kalvin Phillips are among the new additions to arrive for a significant outlay.

Ironically, Ipswich's last game in the Premier League also came against the Reds, with a humiliating 5-0 defeat condemning them to relegation at the end of a difficult 2001-02 campaign.
