Ex-Man United goalkeeper David de Gea 'open to move to Serie A side'

United announced in April that Murtough was departing the club.

However, despite there having previously been much speculation over his future, ten Hag remains in place as manager after signing a one-year contract extension until 2026 following United's FA Cup success.

Ex-Man United goalkeeper David de Gea is reportedly open to a move to a Serie A club

Therefore, a return to Old Trafford appears highly unlikely for de Gea, who will have to assess alternative options.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, de Gea has informed Genoa of his availability and the Italian club will now have to make a decision over whether to sign him.

Genoa, who are managed by Alberto Gilardino, finished in 11th place in Serie A last season.

De Gea joined United from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and went on to make 545 appearances for the Red Devils.

During his time at United de Gea won the Premier League, the FA Cup, two League Cups and the Europa League.
