Jarell Quansah has signed a new long-term contract extension with Liverpool after impressing head coach Arne Slot.
The 21-year-old centraldefender has been rewarded after a stellar breakthrough 18 months that has seen him become a first-team regular after originally joining the club as a kid.
Quansah played an integral role during Jurgen Klopp's farewell season and started the first game of the new Premier League campaign at Ipswich, showing that he is firmly in the plans of the club.
Reds captain Virgil van Dijk is currently preferred in a centre-back partnership with Ibrahima Konate, with Quansah providing back-up as he continues his development under Slot's watchful eye.
His new contract extension follows after he also won his first England call-up in the summer and was highly rated by then manager Gareth Southgate, who asked Quansah to stay with the team for training even after he was cut from the final squad for the European Championship.

The Liverpool academy star was delighted after signing his new deal and revealed he is learning from the club's senior stars in a bid to become a permanent presence at Anfield.
Beaming, Quansah told the club's official website: 'I couldn't be happier at this minute.
'I think the way the new manager has come in, his coaching style has definitely been a massive part of that and I think it is the best club in the world for me to develop at and become a better player.
'I think the players around me, who I'm looking to work hard off and listen to, I think they're the best in the position at the minute. So, like I said, there is probably no better place I could be.'

Liverpool's show of faith calms outside interest after Newcastle previously made a summer approach for his services in a deal that would have seen Anthony Gordon move in the other direction.
Outlining his plans to play a key role in Liverpool's future, he continued: 'I just want to keep trying to get better on the training pitch really and as long as I stay tunnel vision to that.
'I just want to keep progressing, keep trying to learn, and keep trying to get better and better [by] trying to learn off all the senior players, and I've got a lot in my position so anything I can take from them I am trying to do day by day.
'I am hoping to obviously push as well, hopefully we're breeding quite a good environment that we're all challenging for places and as long as we're doing that I think we'll all become better players and ultimately become a better team.'
