Jose Mourinho mocked by Galatasaray after Fenerbahce's derby defeat

Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce lost in the Turkish Super Lig for the first time this season on Saturday and the former Chelsea manager did not take the result well.

Fenerbahce fell to a 3-1 defeat at home by Istanbul rivals Galatasaray after strikes from Dries Mertens and Gabriel Sara, as well as a Dominik Livakovic own goal.

Mourinho was in no mood to hang around following the full-time whistle and he decided to walk out of the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium without attending his post-game press conference.

Galatasaray appeared to take great delight in Mourinho's frustration and posted multiple social media posts mocking the former Chelsea boss.

Two tweets shared by Galatasaray's official X (formerly Twitter) accounts played with Mourinho's longstanding nickname, the 'Special One'.

Jose Mourinho suffered his first Turkish Super Lig defeat as Fenerbahce manager on Saturday

One post featured a photoshopped image of a book titled: 'The Crying One', featuring an image of Mourinho looking sad on the cover.

Another showed Mourinho in the background behind Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk. This image was captioned: 'The winner one'.

A third post mocked the 'Mourinho Universe' slogan that had been used by Fenerbahce and their fans in recent weeks.

Mourinho has been in charge of Fenerbahce since early June.

Saturday's derby was Mourinho's 10th game in charge and his second defeat.

He also lost to Lille in a Champions League qualifier - a result which forced Fenerbahce to settle for a place in this season's Europa League.
