JubileeTV Makes Streaming TV Easier For Seniors

JubileeTV is a new service designed to simplify the modern TV experience for elderly Americans. The TV-based platform, previously known as Caavo, officially launched today to keep aging seniors connected to their most used (and familiar) piece of technology: the television. The system allows family members to stay in touch, provide remote support and offer wellness checks from afar.

It's common for the older generation to struggle to keep up with technological advancements, which can be extra stressful for family members who may have to step in as tech support. For Americans in their 30s and 40s facing the "sandwich generation" squeeze in caring for their aging parents as well as their children, an accessible, remote, time-saving solution is a necessity.

"Because televisions are already the devices seniors use the most, with the largest screens and loudest speakers, we believe they can be a powerful platform for remote care and connection," said Ashish Aggarwal, co-founder and CEO of JubileeTV. "JubileeTV allows seniors to regain control of their TV experience, while creating an in-home hub that gives family members the comfort of knowing their loved ones are cared for and socially connected."

JubileeTV features a user-friendly interface designed specifically for seniors. The voice remote option provides further access to programming. Troubleshooting is simplified with the dedicated mobile app, allowing family members to help with common issues like navigating streaming services and changing HDMI inputs.

On-screen appointment and medication notifications offer easy-to-view reminders. A full-screen video calling feature allows family members to stay connected at the click of a button, and photos can be regularly shared through the platform's interface. Thanks to the built-in camera feature, family members can access their loved one's activity feed to monitor their health and wellness through movement patterns.

According to a recent survey commissioned by JubileeTV, 56% of Americans provide care for loved ones in some capacity. Over a third of the population provides remote care for more than 10 hours per week. Over half of the remote caregivers surveyed identified TV confusion as a regular issue. Nearly 60% of those polled said a viable remote solution would solve the inconvenience of in-person troubleshooting visits.

The latter includes the JubileeTV hub, which is a separate purchase otherwise.
