Kane SMASHES record previously held by Haaland in 6-1 thrashing

Harry Kane has added yet another record to his lengthy list of individual accolades as Bayern Munich disposed of Holstein Kiel 6-1.

The victory represented Vincent Kompany's biggest competitive win since taking over at Bayern and maintained their perfect start to the Bundesliga season.

Kane smashed a hat-trick past the German minnows and bagged an assist as Jamal Musiala, Michael Olise and an own goal from Holstein Kiel's Nicolai Remberg rounded out the scoresheet.

Two of Kane's goals arrived in the first half and he completed his hat-trick with a penalty in the 91st minute.

But he had already broken a Bundesliga record before the half-time whistle had even blown.

Prior to the match, Kane had 47 goal contributions, classified as a goal or an assist, to his name from just 34 Bundesliga fixtures.

It meant he needed just three more to become the fastest man to reach 50 goal involvements in Bundesliga history.

That's exactly what transpired against Holstein Kiel, as two goals and an assist ensured the record would become his, with the late penalty taking the figure to 51.

Kane's breakneck speed with which he reached 50 goal contributions shattered the record previously held by Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian marksman spent two-and-a-half seasons with Borussia Dortmund and raced to the half-century in just 42 games.

But Kane, who hit the figure thanks to 39 goals and 11 assists, reached it in just 35 matches.

His assist came in the first minute for Musiala when he directed a header into the path of the German international who made no mistake with finish.

Kane put Bayern two goals ahead not long after when he slammed home a first-time finish after the newly-promoted side coughed the ball up in a dangerous area.

The England skipper then scored his second - and broke the record - just a few minutes before of half-time. 

Kane's goal also meant he had now scored against every one of the 18 Bundesliga opponents he has faced.

The 31-year-old's hat-trick continued the goalscoring form he showed during the international break.

He smashed home both of England's goals in a 2-0 win over Finland in what was the perfect way to mark his 100th cap for the Three Lions.

Kane's attention now turns to Bayern's Champions League campaign which gets underway on Tuesday as they welcome Dinamo Zagreb to Bavaria.
